Bright Horizons Family Solutions National
Bright Horizons, founded in 1986, has grown to become the world’s leading provider of employee-sponsored child care, early education and work/life solutions. With facilities throughout the United States, Europe and Canada, their employer-sponsored child care and early education programs are provided to more than 700 clients, including 90 of the Fortune 500. Chipman Design Architecture was commissioned to provide complete architectural services for Bright Horizons’ facility expansions and renovations throughout the Midwest. Child care center design and adaptations have addressed a diverse array of unique projects, including refurbishing an existing Michigan child care facility into a private Montessori that combined the charter school with child care; a United Way facility in Florida combining a teacher training center with child care; and numerous corporate-sponsored in-house child care programs as well as lease models in main street locations. We were also selected to design their first LEED child care facility in the Midwest. This design adapted their standard model to incorporate LEED program requirements along with the City of Chicago Green Permit Program requirements for a state of the art, energy efficent facility in downtown Chicago. |
