We are looking at Virtual Reality systems WorldViz and EON Reality for one of our clients. They are building a Virtual Reality system to help them with their design process and cut costs of full size mock ups.
We are also looking at these systems so we can present our clients ideas in 3D stereoscopic imagery in our Tech Center. Still testing this out currently.
May 2012
Chipman Design has moved to BOXX Technologies 3970 for all future Revit workstations now. Upon testing our Revit users had this to say about the workstations.
- All programs open faster, including revit
- Zooming and panning on sheets with lots of views inserted is much smoother and faster, less lag time
- Graphics are more stable compared to previous workstation with the same video card
- Navigation of all files containing graphics of any kind is much faster
We are also looking into VIMtrek for Revit
April, 2012
Chipman Design purchased BOXX Technologies 4920 workstation for rendering workstation. This is the fastest machine I've used to date when dealing with 3ds Max Design, Revit, Photoshop.
We've been working with Advanced AEC Solutions on a service they call REFLEX that works with Revit. Utilizes GPU cloud rendering as an add-on to Revit.
March, 2012

Chipman Design is currently testing BOXX Technologies 4880 workstation with one Quadro 6000 and three Tesla C2075s in it. We are using it to test our 3ds Max Design renderings and workflow with iray. Also use the active shade component in 3ds Max Design for interactive rendering with our design staff and clients.
January 2012
Chipman Design Architecture is talking BOXX Technologies about using them for our rendering workstations moving forward.
March 2011
